Built for the scans that get rescheduled.
Most imaging centers are organized around throughput. We're organized around the patients who don't fit that model — the ones who couldn't finish a closed MRI, who were told to come back sedated, or who quietly never rebooked.
Why open MRI
A meaningful number of people cannot tolerate a closed-bore MRI. They get positioned, the table slides in, and the scan ends before it starts. What follows is usually a referral for sedation, a long wait, or a study that simply never happens — and a doctor left making decisions without the images they asked for.
Open MRI solves that at the level of the machine rather than the level of reassurance. With the magnet above and below and the sides open, there is nothing to be enclosed by. The same design also removes the bore-diameter problem for larger patients and makes room for a parent to stand beside a child during the scan.
We built our MRI service around that system deliberately, and we take referrals specifically for patients who have already failed a study elsewhere.
How we work
- We do the administrative part. Safety screening, preparation instructions and scheduling happen on our side, before you arrive.
- We schedule for tolerance, not just for slots. If a previous scan went badly, we book extra time rather than hoping this one goes better.
- We're honest about fit. If a particular exam would be better on a closed-bore system, we'll say so instead of booking it anyway.
Accreditation
Origin is an accredited facility of the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission in both MRI and CT — an independent review of equipment, staff qualifications, image quality and safety procedures against published national standards.
Where we are
Five locations across the metro — Katy Freeway, Tomball Parkway, Gulf Freeway, North Freeway and the Grand Parkway in Sugar Land — each on a major route, all sharing one scheduling line. Between them we cover most of Harris County and reach into Fort Bend.
Services
MRI, CT and X-ray, with all imaging read by a radiologist who reports back to the doctor who ordered the study. Read more about MRI, our open MRI, CT and X-ray, or see what to expect on your first visit.
